#38 Tommy Boy

#38 Tommy Boy – “I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull’s ass, but I’d rather take a butcher’s word for it.”

Its been said that all the good die young. Particularly this reigns true  in the case of a Mr. Chris Farley. With his oversize exterior, and obnoxious antics, he was able to again walk that line between insanity and finding humor. The main trait that kept him able to walk that tight rope so perfectly, was his likability factor. Well take that and mix it with the most smarmy, dry, ironic comedian of that time in David Spade and you have one of two hilarious comedies in Tommy Boy and Black Sheep. Tommy Boy and his quest to avenge his father’s brake pad company from falling to the waste side and bought out by a richer more wealthier competitor, is forced to do so by becoming a salesman and carries none of the necessary requirements to be able to handle this task. But nonetheless, throw in over the top bees scenes, a fat man in little coat, and physical objects to the head and you have yourself one hell of a funny movie. Check out my favorite scene from this movie.

#39 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

#39 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

This movie was so well done that it would almost be counterproductive for me to make commentary on it. So instead I will leave you with a fantastic quote from the movie as the King of the Swamp People makes his case for building the castle. “When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that’s what you’re going to get, Lad, the strongest castle in all of England.” Now watch the epic battle with the meeting of the Black Knight.

#40 Waiting

#40 Waiting – “Your the coolest guy at Shenanigans, thats like being the coolest kid with down syndrome”

This movie brought a nationwide fear to the forefront, afraid that our cooks everywhere are dropping our food onto the floor and claiming the “five second rule” which then almost always turns into the “ten second rule.” Ryan Reynolds, Justin Long, Dane Cook, Anna Faris and so many more make this movie one of those classic instant hits the moment you lay your eyes on it. The movie is about a day in the life of all the characters as we follow along with their little insecurities and even some on a larger scale. It’s the ultimate what am I doing or where I am going with my life. Hence the title being perfect, waiting. Since thats really all we can do in between is just wait it out. Check out one of the funnier moments of the movie when the trainee finally lays into the crew about not being able to speak his mind all day. Priceless.

#41 Animal House

#41 Animal House

Probably one of the most overrated comedies of all time if your asking my personal opinion. I do like this movie enough to place it in the top 50, but my feelings have always remained true. If you didn’t attend college and definitely weren’t in a fraternity than maybe this movie doesn’t have an audience. Belushi’s comedy to me has always been on the wrong side of that border between hilarious and obnoxious. With all that being said. This movie does give us it’s special moments. Like Belushi’s “zit” moment that starts a huge food fight throughout the cafeteria. Or this classic speech piece from the man himself gathering the troops for war.

#42 Austin Powers 2 – The Spy Who Shagged Me

#42 Austin Powers 2 – “Throw me a frickin bone here”

Mike Myers really is one of those guys who in my opinion doesn’t get enough credit in the comedy world. If you think about the success that this man has had with his hilarious gimmicks and voice work for all of the Shrek sequels. His resume might be hard to compete with if you take all of that into consideration. When Austin Powers – International Man of Mystery came out it was so different than anything we had seen him do before. It really was an instant classic because it played as a spoof off of the James Bond films. Because of its success it was inevitable that sequels would follow. Austin Powers 2 – The Spy Who Shagged Me was so over the top hilarious at every given moment of the movie that you almost have to pop it in and watch it all over again just to appreciate how non stop the laughs were in that film. We forget that Will Ferrell played a character named Mustafa and Rob Lowe is the younger #2 when they go back in time. This movie also has in my opinion the best of the Power girls in Heather Graham, but that I agree this can be debatable. This movie will make you laugh and laugh again. Like this clip of the famous song, Just the two of us.

#43 Kingpin

#43 Kingpin – “I don’t puke when I drink, I puke when I don’t”

A movie that takes the sport of Bowling and presents it to us as if its the National Football League. The Tom Brady and Peyton Manning of this league is a one armed Woody Harrelson and a half drunken Bill Murray. To top it off insert Randy Quaid into said film and you’ve got yourself one of the funniest movies of all time. Now it’s not the wittiest movie of all time obviously but it is one of the Farrelly brothers best pieces of work if you asked me. The premise alone makes this movie magical. Woody Harrelson whose past his prime and desperately in need for money finds a prodigy of the game in a young Amish man in Randy Quaid and continues to ride his coat tails to fame. I mean if that alone doesn’t make you laugh out loud. Then maybe this movie isn’t for you. But for those of you that do appreciate this movie and all it’s glory. Check out this hilarious scene.

#44 Friday

#44 Friday  – “I would knock the dust of that Pussy”

I’ll be the first to admit that I am not the biggest Ice Cube fan. But he does surround himself by some very talented people in all his films. Friday is no different. With the talented Chris Tucker and Bernie Mac this movie didn’t lack any true comedians. We follow Craig on a random Friday as he progresses through his day. As issues rise up, we get to follow along as they handle those situations the only way, urban living stoners would do. Hilarious comedy definitely worth the sequels it got. Some might even argue that Next Friday is the better of the two. But hey you’ve got to start somewhere. Check out that hilarious scene, “Twinny, Twin Twin.”
